Why this store has no Top Free

Every app store splits its front page on price: a free board and a paid board. Nothing on Cladior is free, so that split would produce one chart holding the whole catalogue and a second holding nothing.

The question it was standing in for still matters, and here it is harder to answer. A rate per kilobyte tells you almost nothing on its own. Rates across the store run from $0.000001 to $0.000022 per KB, and an app at the cheap end that sends 900KB a screen costs more to use than one at the expensive end that sends 4KB. A user cannot work that out from a listing.

So the boards rank on a session rather than on a price tag.

The four boards

Net votes gained in the last fourteen days, highest first. Apps with no gain in that window are not listed.

This counts change, not total. An all-time board is won once and then held by being old, which makes it a poor guide to what is worth looking at this week and a closed door for anything published since. Flathub ranks its trending section the same way, on installs gained over two weeks rather than installs held.

Kind to your credit

Typical session cost, cheapest first:

session cost = rate per KB x typical KB served per request

Typical KB is the median across that app's charges, not the mean. One large response should not move an app that is otherwise light, and a median ignores it while a mean does not.

Votes are not part of this sort. The board answers what an app costs, and a chart that quietly mixed popularity into a cost ranking would not be the chart its name claims.

An app with no charges yet has no median, so it does not appear here until it has been used.

Top rated

Net votes, all time, highest first. Ties break toward the earliest published, the same rule as a category rank. Apps at zero or below are not listed.

This is the board every store has. It is kept because it is the one users ask for by name, not because it is the most useful.

Just landed

Newest listing first. No vote threshold and no quality bar.

A store whose every board needs a score is a store nobody new can get into. This one exists so that publishing is enough to be seen once.

What none of them use

  • Payment. No placement on any board can be bought.
  • Editorial judgement. Nobody at Cladior moves an app up or down.
  • Earnings. What an app makes us has no bearing on where it is listed.
  • Registration date, except on Just landed where it is the whole sort, and as the tie-break on Top rated.

Ties

Where two apps hold the same figure, the earlier listing comes first, on every board. The reasoning is the one set out in Rankings: if ties broke toward the newer app, a position could be taken by matching a score rather than beating it, and re-listing would become a way to climb.

If you are not placing

Each board answers a different question, so the useful move depends on which one you want.

  • Trending wants recent votes. A quiet month costs you this board and nothing else.
  • Kind to your credit wants smaller responses. Compress, drop what the page does not need, and it is the one board you can climb by engineering rather than by persuasion.
  • Top rated wants a net score above zero, held over time.
  • Just landed wants nothing. If you are listed and you are not on it, you are no longer new.
